Overview
Queensland has a diverse and competitive manufacturing sector that provides high-quality products to export markets around the world. Target markets include the United States, China, the Middle East, South-East Asia and Europe.
Under its manufacturing strategy, the Queensland Government has a comprehensive support framework for sustainable manufacturing growth with a strong export focus.
Queensland continues to support developing and adopting new technologies, systems and processes to assist the export prospects of Queensland manufacturers.
The State's manufacturing industry has a number of key strengths including:
- Emphasising quality and safety to satisfy international and industry standards and regulations
- World-class research and development capabilities
- Highly responsive to changing global demands at both industry and individual firm levels
- Innovative technology and processes.
Queensland manufacturing is segmented according to the following sectors (including but not limited to):
- Automotive
- Aviation/aerospace
- Building and construction
- Energy conservation and efficiency
- Marine
- Mining equipment, technology and services.
Major projects
Trade Queensland has developed a Multi-Market Manufacturing Project which works with established Queensland exporters in the manufacturing sector (except food manufacturers).
Participating companies are assisted by the Queensland Government's network of export advisers across the State and overseas.
