Message from the Premier of Queensland
Releasing the guidelines for the Premier of Queensland's Export Awards program - in this its 20th year - is a key step in the program to rightfully recognising successful Queenslanders.
This year is a milestone for the Awards - the 20th anniversary of acknowledging Queensland's outstanding exporting businesses.
In the current tough economic times, many businesses are looking to new strategies for growth.
The awards highlight our State's successful export sector and the example that continues to be set by those businesses leading the way in establishing and consolidating new markets overseas for Queensland's goods and services.
The program continues to acknowledge the contribution our export businesses make to local and national economies, and to the lifestyles of Queenslanders through the creation of jobs.
In times like these, more than ever, we need to pull together and celebrate our successes. I strongly encourage you to nominate for a Premier of Queensland's Export Award in 2009.
