Eligibility

Businesses small and large, reqional and metropolitan, may enter the awards if they satisfy the criteria:

  • are Queensland based or have their main export operations based in Queensland
  • produce goods or services that have Australian content* of at least 50 per cent of their Free On Board (FOB) value
  • earn foreign exchange
  • operate as a separate business if part of a larger organisation
  • companies may only enter one state or territory awards program (i.e. you may not submit an application for the same business in Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria).

* Australian content may include direct or indirect manufacture of goods, the intellectual property, design or engineering component of services.

In addition:

  • companies that have been exporting for three financial years or less are eligible for the Emerging Exporter category in addition to their industry category.
  • organisations with a non-metropolitan head office may enter the Regional Exporter category
  • Government agencies are not eligible to apply, however, export businesses that receive funding from the Government are eligible to apply
