National awards
Exporting is important to the Queensland and overall Australian economy. The objectives of the Premier of Queensland Export Awards and the Australian Export Awards are:
- to showcase Australia's top exporters
- to promote them as role models
- to encourage other Australian businesses to strive for success in world markets.
Winners of the Premier of Queensland's Export Awards automatically progress as national finalists to the Australian Export Awards.
The Premier of Queensland's Export Awards is the only way Queensland companies can enter the Australian Export Awards. The linkage between the awards programs is an example of the strong co-operation that exists between the Queensland Government, the business community and the federal government to encourage the growth of Australia's exports.
Over the past few years a number of Queensland companies have been recognised as national leaders in their export field.
Winners of the 2007 Australian Export Awards included Queensland's own Russell Mineral Equipment and Callidan Instruments, winning the Australian Business International Trade Services - Regional Exporter Award and the CPA Australia Limited - Small Business Award respectively.
