National awards program

Winners of the Premier of Queensland's Export Awards automatically progress as national finalists to the Australian Export Awards.

Objectives of the Awards

The objectives of the Premier of Queensland Export Awards and the Australian Export Awards are to:

• showcase Australia's top exporters
• promote them as role models
• encourage other Australian businesses to strive for success in world markets.

The Premier of Queensland's Export Awards is the only way Queensland companies can enter the Australian Export Awards.

The link between the awards programs is an example of the collaboration of the Queensland Government, the business community and the Federal Government to encourage the growth of Australia's exports.

Over the past few years a number of Queensland companies have been recognised as national leaders in their export field.

Winners of the 2011 Australian Export Awards

In 2011, Queensland companies achieved accolades across the Australian Export Awards including:

• Sedgman Limited for the Australian Exporter of the Year Award and the Minerals and Energy Award
• Institute of Continuing and TESOL Education, The University of Queensland for the Education and Training Award
• PWR Performance Products for the Small to Medium Manufacturer Award

• Swift Australia for the Agribusiness Award
• Sedgman Limited for the Large Services Award
• Xstrata Mount Isa Mines for the Minerals and Energy Award

2009 Winners

• NOJA Power Switchgear Limited for the Prime Minister's Exporter of the Year and Large Advanced Manufacturer Awards
• Capilano Honey Limited for the Agribusiness Award
• Wesfarmers Curragh Pty Ltd for the Minerals and Energy Award
